Preparing for a tattoo appointment is important to ensure a smooth and comfortable experience. Here are some steps to help you prepare:

      1. Stay Hydrated and Get a Good Night's Sleep: Adequate hydration and rest can help your body cope better with the tattooing process. Drink plenty of water leading up to your appointment, and try to get a full night's sleep to ensure you're well-rested.
      2. Eat a Healthy Meal: Make sure you have a nutritious meal before your appointment to keep your energy levels up during the tattoo session. Avoid consuming alcohol or caffeine, as they can affect your body's response to the tattooing process.
      3. Dress Appropriately: Wear comfortable and loose-fitting clothing that provides easy access to the area where you'll be getting the tattoo. This will allow the artist to work efficiently and ensure your comfort throughout the session.
      4. Clean and Moisturize Your Skin: On the day of your appointment, shower and clean the area where you'll be getting the tattoo. Avoid applying any lotions or oils to the skin, as they can interfere with the tattooing process. However, keeping your skin well-moisturized in the days leading up to the appointment can help improve its overall condition.
      5. Bring Valid ID or other Necessary Documents: You will need to bring a valid ID to verify your age.
      6. Communicate Any Concerns or Questions: If you have any specific concerns, allergies, questions, or changes to discuss with your tattoo artist, reach out to them before the appointment. It's important to have open communication and address any doubts or uncertainties beforehand.

      TATTOO AFTERCARE

Always wash your hands before touching your tattoo. The most important thing to remember is to keep your tattoo clean and moisturized.

When you get home after 1-2 hours. Carefully remove your bandage. DO NOT re-cover your tattoo, as it needs to breathe.

Once the bandage is removed: use a liquid, antibacterial soap and gently clean your tattoo using only your fingers. Be careful to avoid any washcloths or exfoliation, as it can agitate your tattoo. Gently pat your tattoo dry using a clean towel.

Once your tattoo is clean, use your fingers to gently apply a natural, unscented, moisturizer. Do not use any Vaseline, Neosporin, or any petroleum products. Repeat the process of washing and moisturizing your tattoo 2-3 times a day until all scabbing has fallen off.

Be sure to wash your bedding/pajamas. Do not use any bandages or wraps. Wear loose clothing to minimize friction on your tattoo.

      What to expect:

Day 1: you will be swollen and red. It is normal for your tattoo to drip a mixture of blood, ink, and plasma. This is just your body doing its job to heal and should go away in a day or two.

      First 2 weeks:

Your tattoo will scab up, get itchy, and flake off. This is normal. DO NOT itch, scratch, slap, or peel your tattoo. Let the scabs flake off naturally and continue to moisturize as needed. CBD moisturizers work great to take away some of the itching. Be sure to keep your tattoo out of the Sun. DO NOT go to any pools, beaches, steam rooms, hot tubs, saunas etc. Keep showers under 20 minutes to avoid soaking your tattoo.

      After 2 weeks:

You can start to return to normal. Your tattoo will continue to heal for up to 6 weeks. During this time it is important to continue moisturizing, wear sunscreen, and be gentle with your skin.

      DO:

wash your tattoo twice a day

Moisturize your tattoo when it gets dry or itchy

Wear sunscreen (once the scabs have fallen off)

      Clean your bedding

      Wear loose clothing

      DONT:

      Go swimming/hot tubbing

      Go to steam rooms/ saunas

Itch, scratch, slap, or peel your tattoo

      Wear tight clothing

      Sit in the Sun

      Use harsh skin products

Tattoo pricing can vary widely depending on several factors, including the size, complexity, and location on the body. We will happily provide an estimate during the consultation process.  Our tattoo shop has a minimum charge of $150 for any tattoo service.
